A lot of local authority dwellings already have a communal satellite and aerial system installed, that can also accommodate Freeview digital channels and analogue channles all through the one cable!
The facts are that the majority of privately owned and managed blocks of flats are still not yet up to speed with all of these newly available digital channels.
There are certain laws at the moment that also dictate that you are only allowed a maximum of 2 dishes per dwelling. This means that all those buildings with more than 2 people who want ot receive digital signals, and, live in a block of flats, won't, or shouldn't be able to.
On top of that it is going to be law soon that landlord have to provide a varied mix of digital channels to their tenants ..... by law.
Most people nowadays that look to rent now expect also to be able to receive a good amount of digital choice for thier viewing.
Whether you are a landlord, managing agent, local authority, building or electrical contractor, housing association or residents association you need to be switched on pretty quickly, before the stampede starts for the digital switchover.
The one really important thing is to make sure that your installers are registered as commercial engineers with the CAI, the aerial industry governing body, for commercial systems as well as domestic, As such they will adhere to all sorts of health and safety requirements and work to high standards, as set out by the CAI .
So what are the options for you.
IRS systems
These are the main systems installed nowadays on blocks of flats and are flexible and very complete, also they are very upgradeable.
MATV systems
These systems are for what we see as normal tv aerial systems, but nowadays they incorporate digital terrestrial aerial reception as well as digital tv aerial reception.
SMATV
These are installed in hotels often and 'modulate' channels through the whole system, negating the need for receivers or any electronics in the the rooms. They allow a satellite channel (or more than one) to be shown on any tv that is connected to the aerial network of cabling
Freeview systems (really MATV systems)
CAT5 systems
These can sometimes be classed as systems, but probably not communal, although they can allow a huge number of outlets to be added to, CAT5 systems are generally used mainly in large offices and companies that require numerous aerial points, high definition tv, video, data and many other things over the saem cable with little loss. Due to advancement in technology, they are becoming more popular
These systems allow viewers to receive the free digital channels available.
Aerial Concepts Ltd have teams of communal engineers that specialise in the challenges your particular communal system may face. This local knowledge is very important and coupled with the accreditations, a proven track record and a company that genuinely care, you know you are making the right choice in choosing Aerial Concepts
